Bartleby offers access to a wide variety of reference, fiction and non-fiction books online, including Bartlett's Familiar Quotations, 10th ed. 1919, Columbia World of Quotations, and Simpson's Contemporary Quotations; the Most Notable Quotations 1950-1988. Search all three collections together or search them one at a time. Quotes are well documented, giving both the author and the source of each quotation.

  • Famous Hippy Quotes
From author Skip Stone, well-known quotes from the 60s and 70s. Categories include philosophy ("You're either on the bus or off the bus"--Ken Kesey), freedom ("One thing I can tell you is you got to be free!"--John Lennon), love, activism, drugs and music. (For accuracy, better check the original sources; these appear to be submitted by readers.)
